It's wintertime at Dry Creek Ranch in this photo and the kittens are huddling over the heated stock water to keep warm. This is mountain country and it can get very cold and snowy here. The temperature can plunge to -60 C and then suddenly a chinook will come through - then it's well above freezing and sunny! The winters for the last few years have been very mild. The coldest temperature recorded here at Dry Creek was -35 C last winter with only about 3 feet of snow. For most of the winter, the temperature hovered around the freezing mark!
